Public Meeting on Worker's Health,
Sep. 25A public meeting on the long term health effects of exposure to low-dose radiation was organised at the Roxby Downs Community Hall, Thursday 25 September.
Epidemiologist Dr David Richardson, from the School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina, gave an excellent overview of worker's health studies done on the nuclear industry in the United States.
Other key-note speakers included
- Joan Wingfield - a Kokatha woman, a long-time anti-nuclear and Aboriginal activist;
- David Noonan - Australian Conservation Fondation Campaign Officer from Adelaide, extensive experience in anti-nuclear issues and the Lake Eyre region of South Australia;
- Dave Sweeney - Friends of the Earth & ACF Anti-Uranium campaigner - long history of involvement with uranium mining and Aboriginal communities.
