Olympic Dam's Expansion EIS

On first glance, it looks as though it's your classic EIS - very glossy with heaps of convoluted sentences and very little substance. We already have found they have ignored all the latest research from Hiroshima and Nagasaki on the effects of low-level ionising radiation. Plus they avoid the issue of protecting the springs........

Submissions

Mineral Policy Institute Considered the EIS to be grossly inadequate and open to legal challenge as to it's validity.
Roxby Action Collective Argues that much of the scientific data presented is inadequate, and unjustifiable assumptions used in hydrogeological and environmental assessments.
Friends of the Earth Australia The EIS is merely a propaganda document, rather than a concise technical and economic analysis of the project.
Friends of the Earth Sydney The EIS lacks clarity, and clearly avoids significant issues associated with the mining of uranium and the broader nuclear fuel cycle.

Commonwealth's Assessment

Commonwealth The Commonwealth is highly critical of most aspects of the EIS.
