77,000 tonnes uranium oxide (in Ranger No. 1 stockpile and Orebody No. 3 which has proved and probable reserves of 56,615 tonnes)
Mining
commenced production in October 1981 with capacity of 3,300 tonnes per year by open cut, acid leach, and saturated tailings. The uranium ore is crushed, ground, processed through a sulphuric acid leach to extract the uranium, then separated from the tailings and further processed with solvents, precipitation, centrifuge and furnace to convert it to the uranium oxide (U3O8). Production 1994-95 : 1,548 tonnes.
