Reserves

  • 77,000 tonnes uranium oxide (in Ranger No. 1 stockpile and Orebody No. 3 which has proved and probable reserves of 56,615 tonnes)

    Mining

  • commenced production in October 1981 with capacity of 3,300 tonnes per year by open cut, acid leach, and saturated tailings. The uranium ore is crushed, ground, processed through a sulphuric acid leach to extract the uranium, then separated from the tailings and further processed with solvents, precipitation, centrifuge and furnace to convert it to the uranium oxide (U3O8).
  • Production 1994-95 : 1,548 tonnes.
