570 Southern Ventures NL (AUS) In 1984 the CEGB started funding the major part of a JV in uranium exploration on the Lyndhurst uranium prospect in Queensland, in which Southern Ventures held 30% along with Cultus Pacific (1).
An un-named European company was expected in 1983 to provide A$100M for further exploration and water sampling work.
Southern Ventures also had several other JVs with Cultus Pacific:
The last three were 30% owned by Southern Ventures and 70% by Cultus Pacific (2).Robinson Range, Western Australia (WA), where low-grade uranium mineralisation had been located in the Mica Bore area;
Thatcher Soak, 160km north-east of Laverton, WA, where 6,000 tonnes of U3O8 grading 0.4kg per tonne, have been located;
the Tanami Desert, Northern Territory, which it held 25% with Cultus (25%) and Otter (50%);
Lake Maitland (Cultus Pacific NL) prospect, about 100km south-east of Wiluna, WA;
Lake Mason, about 75km south-west of WMC's Yeelirrie deposit in WA, and
Lake Raeside, 60km west of Leonora, WA. Now 75% owned by Dominion Mining Ltd, the company operates the Gabanintha gold mine in Western Australia, near Meekatharra, and it is also exploring in Western Kalimantan (3).
