AMEEF describe themselves as "a non-profit, non-political independent body established to promote the environmentally responsible development of Australia’s minerals and energy resources." They were established in 1991, and continually give awards each year to the good companies who protect the environment.Just like the Minerals Council, AMEEF is heavy funded by the large players like WMC, Rio Tinto, SANTOS, BHP and North Ltd. These are the same companies who get the awards they paid AMEEF to sponsor !
